One Day Internationals
England v Ireland
England won the 1st ODI convincingly. ECB has sent their first choice playing XI keeping the upcoming Champions trophy in mind. Another trial awaits for Ireland.
India W v Ireland W
Indian Women have a perfect 10/10 against Ireland Women. With Home advantage behind them they are expected to go 11/11. The price 1.07 is a steal as the stats suggest.
South Africa (W) v Zimbabwe (W)
South Africa W should be too good for Zimbabwe W even after missing their Captain van Niekerk.

Indian Premier League
Royal Challengers Bangalore v Kolkata Knight Riders
- All Sunday games between these two sides are won by KKR (2/2 Wins on Sundays for KKR)
- When RCB have lost the toss, they struggled to win against KKR in those games (1 win in 7 games)
- 4pm start games between these two teams are won by chasing teams mostly (8/10 matches won by chasing teams)
KKR winning the toss chasing might spell doom for RCB as per the stats. But recently Bangalore pitches were low scorers. Batting first has given a definite advantage in the recent games.
KKR have lost their previous 2 matches. Uthappa’s fitness status is unclear and whether they’ll fast track the injury returned Chris Lynn in to the playing XI is another question. Nathan Coulter Nile also under an injury cloud after suffering a blow in his helmet.
Keep low stakes and reduce risk as and when possible.
Kings XI Punjab v Gujarat Lions
Match Winner: Gujarat Lions
Royal London OD Cup
Durham v Northamptonshire
Table Positions: Durham – 5th and Northamptonshire – 7th of North Group
Last year North Group had a very tight contest. Northamptonshire were placed 1st and Durham were placed 5th. Even though both teams managed same points Durham lost out qualifying to Quarter finals by the virtue of Net Run Rate. The major contributor to their negative NRR came from the hands of Northamptonshire. Durham managed a 170 run defeat chasing 355 last year.
Northamptonshire top order is inconsistent this year. Wakely and Rossington has provided vital innings’ from the middle order very often. They have a weak bowling unit. But their depth in batting has made most of their matches high scoring encounters.
Durham too are a powerful batting side with a weak bowling unit. Compared to Northants their bowling looks better. Their only loss this year came against Yorkshire in a high scorer where they couldn’t defend 335.
Cester-le-Street pitch has has been very good for batting this year. Another run fest awaits.
Match Winner: Durham @ 1.67 – 1xBet – Bet is valid only if they chase. Else avoid.
Glamorgan v Essex
Table Positions: Essex – 2nd and Glamorgan – 8th of South Group
Glamorgan’s middle order has failed. With 9 proper batsmen in the line up they have produced below par scores. They have 3 losses in 4 games. If Gloucestershire didn’t make a meal of a comfortable chase in a rain affected DL adjusted score, they would be having zero points.
Essex are on the opposite end of the spectrum. They’re yet to lose a game after 3 matches.
In 2016 Essex were placed 2nd and Glamorgan finished 7th in South Group. In the head to head encounter last year, Essex managed a comfortable chase of 325 against Glamorgan.
Hampshire v Gloucestershire
Table Positions: Hampshire – 7th and Gloucestershire – 6th of South Group
All stats are inconclusive. Batting inconsistencies plague these two. Last year Gloucestershire surprised by posting 352 and managed defending the score only by 10 runs. Avoiding this game.
Match Winner: Avoid
Kent v Middlesex
Table Positions: Kent – 9th and Middlesex – 5th of South Group
Kent’s current year has been troublesome due to poor bowling. They have lost all 3 matches defending scores (300+ scores twice). No chasing team batted more than 48 overs to overhaul their highest of 352 or the lowest of 258.
Middlesex managed an easy chase in 2016 encounter between these two.
Match Winner: Middlesex @ 1.82 – 12Bet – Bet is valid only if they chase. Else avoid.
Nottinghamshire v Leicestershire
Table Positions: Nottinghamshire – 4th and Leicestershire – 3rd of North Group
The minnows Leicester are posting and chasing big totals this year. They are good at defending their totals as well. Their transformation from last year’s performance is astonishing.
Alex Hales is off to international duty for Nottinghamshire. Last year Notts suffered a loss by a small difference of 8 runs. Avoiding this game as odds are not looking right.
Match Winner: Avoid
Sussex v Surrey
Table Positions: Sussex- 3rd and Surrey – 4th of South Group
Sussex have used their batting depth to make a turnaround this year after finishing last in the table the previous year.
This year 6 out of 7 completed games involving these two were won by chasing teams.
Match Winner: Chasing team
Warwickshire v Lancashire
Table Positions: Warwickshire – 8th and Lancashire – 9th of North Group
Warwickshire’s bowling has been a let down this year, Out of the 4 games there were 300+ scores in 3 games. All the 3 Warwickshire failed to chase. Lancashire too are matching Warwickshire’s weakness to weakness. Even on a bowling surface the gave away 293. In the remaining two they allowed the opposition to score 300+.
Last year Lancashire posted a slightly above par score and won with the help of Guptill and Jos Buttler. Both are not available for them this time.
Yorkshire v Derbyshire
Table Positions: Yorkshire – 2nd and Derbyshire – 6th of North Group
Joe Root, Bairstow, Rashid, Willey and Plunkett are off to International duty. Yorskshire immediately suffered a defeat the previous game. I’m not considering any stat. My gut feeling says another surprise awaits.
